GTDInbox 3.0 Alpha 4 is available at http://www.gtdinbox.com/3/
It is mostly performance and robustness improvements, but does include a visual modification to Archive/Move-Next; and how it scrolls through emails in your Inbox and other views. The other major area we tackled was getting it to load at all - quite a few users were simply not seeing anything. I believe this is to do with other extensions in Firefox (it’s not their fault though - just a clash), and I hope we’ve now fixed it. (Please reply here if we haven’t!).
We’re going to get back to a cycle of rapid releases. There was a big gap between Alpha 3 and Alpha 4. There were several reasons for this - mostly to do with ambition and hard-to-find technical problems. To stop it happening again we’re implementing a rule that nothing new gets built until existing bugs are solved.
For the next release (probably Alpha 5), Stephen has been working on a new and improved framework for loading GTDInbox and handling future plugins. Meanwhile Pete & I have been designing visual and usability advances that are now ready to implement. If that all goes well, we’ll be into the Beta releases!

Just a brace of quick ‘attaboys’ for your hard work - my day would look quite different without the product of your handiwork!

Still not loading for me.

Still doesn’t work here. I disabled all my extensions and all labs features to no avail.
After re-enabling everything again, I thought I could take a look at the error console. I can send you everything I get there, but here is what I think is the most useful to you:
Error in glPlugins.loadPluginsForGmail: Plugin gtd failed to load for gmail: TypeError: currentTrans is undefined
Stack trace:
Exception thrown
([object Object])@chrome://gtdinbox/content/js/gmail/glPlugins.js:108
([object Event])@chrome://gtdinbox/content/js/main.js:157
Note that as I said above, I get this stack trace with my other extensions and lab features enabled. I don’t have time right now to go and disable everything again, but could do so on the afternoon if you think it could help.

I should have noted that I don’t have to do anything to get that stacktrace — just load gmail on a tab.

Mark - can you drop me an email (andy at gtdinbox.com) and we can discuss this a little more.
Leo - good job on picking up the stacktrace. That might be quite straightforward to fix. Can you reset your settings?
1) Close all tabs, and with the remaining tab, go to about:config (agree to the warning)
2) Search for extensions.gtdinbox
3) For each extensions.gtdinbox entry, right click it and Reset the value (i.e. wipe out all GTDInbox settings)
4) Reload Firefox and then Gmail
Any joy?

I’m having the same issue as Leo. Alpha 3 didn’t work for me either. Should I go back to a previous version?

After removing the settings seems like it hit another issue:

The only evidence that GTDInbox is installed (from the user interface perspective) is that now my labels got categorized. But no GTDInbox entry on GMail settings, no “Compose Personal”, and more importantly, no Dashboard.
If I can continue providing debugging help, please say so and I’d be happy to assist you.

Leo - I just sent you an email. Check your spam filter if you didn’t get it.
Brian & avatsi - I suggest you go back to 2.x until Alpha 5 is out.
I really thought we had this solved - I’m very keen to get to the bottom of this as quickly as possible.

Just a suggestion, but perhaps you can ask a couple of people having issues to install FEBE and make a backup of ALL their add-in’s and then send that to you to, so you can recreate an exact situation. Failing that, other people could also create an alternate profile in Firefox without extensions, and try loading, etc to narrow the problem.

Great! Now you’ll need to make a whole new help file - for those of us who can’t find our way around anymore! (Just kidding - sort of)
I was just wondering this morning if the “old” labels would disappear.
Well done - I love the new console. Seems to work ok here.
